Channel your inner evil to reign supreme in Disney’s Villainous!

In Villainous, players takes control of villains from Disney movies and set out to accomplish their unique victory conditions. Each player has their own villain deck, fate deck, player board, and 3D character, all of which emulate crucial plot points, important locations and popular characters from the movies. With these components in play, the game excels thematically, allowing players to fully experience and appreciate the difficulties of being the bad guy.

On their turn, the players move their characters to different locations on their player board, upon which available actions are featured. These actions include gaining power which is the currency of the game, playing or discarding cards and vanquishing heroes. Cards from the villain deck represent allies, items, effects and conditions, all of which are vital to fulfil your objective.

More importantly, players may also choose an opponent to suffer from an effect of the fate deck as an action. Draw two cards from that player’s fate deck, then play one of them on their board, covering two of the four actions available on that location. The fate deck contains heroes, items, and negative effects that will slow you down on your quest of evildoing, but often also contains a key piece of your victory condition.

While the game is mostly solitaire, the fate mechanic pushes the race aspect of the game into the spotlight. Players will have to agonise between furthering their own cause or to sabotaging their friends, making for a balance between optimisation and take that mechanics.

With a simple-to-teach set of rules and the beautiful illustrations from the Disney movies brought together perfectly by the brilliant visual system, Villainous is a game highly recommended for designers, animators and Disney fans!
