Give cryptic clues and guess your friends’ stories in the dreamy world of Dixit!

In Dixit, players are storytellers that take turns to choose and describe a picture card from their hand, using only a single sentence. The other players have to provide a card from their hand that best match the sentence. All cards are then shuffled and revealed. After which, players have to guess which picture card belonged to the storyteller in order to score points.

Your goal as a storyteller is to craft a story that is ambiguous and logical at the same time, since you do not score points if none or all of the other players are able to guess your card. This makes the game a little more complex that it initially seems. However, coming up with ingenious clues to fulfil the above conditions can be very satisfying.

As a guesser, your goal is to provide an image that resonates well with the given story, since you also earn points if the other players bet on your card. At the same time, being in sync with the storyteller to make correct guesses can feel very rewarding for both you and the storyteller.

What makes the game impressive is the fact that gameplay transcends language, since clues can be given in any language (as long as the other players understand!) or even acted out. With delightfully dreamy illustrations and simple rules, Dixit is an excellent party game recommended for the casual gamer.
