In this wargame, players build their armies, consolidate power and summon magical creatures. With the help of divine interventions, their troops spread across the deserts to conquer key territories.
The game is essentially a race as it ends once any player obtains 8 points by the end of the round. Since points are awarded for winning battles, players are encouraged to take up arms as often as possible. This makes Kemet one of the fastest-paced wargames that focuses on the thrill of combat instead of holding out and amassing forces.
With a selection of only 5 unique actions – praying for resources, enhancing pyramids, purchasing power tiles, summoning troops and moving them – Kemet is surprisingly easy to learn and get into. Gamers new to wargames may stumble a little when it comes to combat, but the game is forgiving enough to allow comebacks, especially since the losing player has the advantage of choosing the turn order.
With its variety of power tiles and 3 available tracks to experiment with, veteran wargamers will love the replayability of Kemet!
